SANTA CECÍLIA
In 2025, I was responsible for designing the poster for the Santa Cecília concert by the Agrupació Musical d’Ontinyent.
En 2025 fui la encargada de representar la imagen del cartel para el concierto de Santa Cecília de l’Agrupació Musical d’Ontinyent.
To do so, I wanted to represent two main ideas: first, the meaning of being part of a band, that is, being part of a whole while remaining oneself. On the other hand, Saint Cecilia is known as the patron saint of music. However, in Classical Antiquity, this figure was represented by Euterpe, muse of the art of sound, who was depicted playing the flute. At that time, music played a key role in the education of young Greeks, as it was considered a discipline with ethical and moral value.
Therefore, the poster combines these two concepts, with a composition that, formed by different musicians playing their own instruments, builds an ensemble that shapes the figure of Euterpe playing the flute.
Para ello, quise representar dos ideas principales: en primer lugar, el significado de formar parte de una banda, es decir, ser parte de un todo sin dejar de ser uno mismo. Por otro lado, Santa Cecília es conocida como la patrona de la música. Sin embargo, en la Antigüedad Clásica, esta figura era representada por Euterpe, musa del arte sonoro, y que se representaba tocando la flauta. En aquella época, la música tenía un papel fundamental en la formación de los jóvenes griegos, pues se consideraba una disciplina con valor ético y moral.
Así, la propuesta fusiona estos dos conceptos, con una composición que, formada por distintos músicos que interpretan su propio instrumento, construyen un conjunto que da forma a la figura de Euterpe tocando la flauta.
