ORILLA Y MEDIO (ALCUBLAS, 2023)
First, the reaping; second, threshing with mules; then winnowing, if the weather allowed; and finally, sifting. This was part of the process repeated by the people of Alcublas to obtain the grain: a way of life that may seem distant, yet feels closer than we think.
Primero segar, segundo trillar con las mulas, después aventar si salía el día en condiciones y lo último la criba. Es parte del proceso que repetían los alcublanos para obtener el grano, y que, aunque parece muy lejano, queda más cerca de lo que pensamos.
“Orilla y medio” is the second mural in Alcublas, created in collaboration with Uve Mañes: a tribute to all those who broke their back working in the fields, and to agriculture itself, one of the town’s main pillars.
«Orilla y medio» es el segundo mural en Alcublas en colaboración con Uve Mañes, un homenaje a toda esa gente que se dejó la piel en el campo y un homenaje a la agricultura, que es uno de los grandes sustentos del pueblo.
